ABSTRACT
Gas hydrates play a significant role in the broad areas of energy applications and climate changes. Furthermore, externally applied fields by charged sediments artificial activities are paramount importance for transitions between disordered ordered gas hydrate systems on Earth. Herein, external static electric structural instability mechanical properties methane explored using molecular dynamics simulation methods. Our results show that characteristics such as Young's modulus, strengths, failure modes greatly affected strengths imposed directions fields. Interestingly, strong can result distortion dissociation local water cages mainly due to realignments molecules, thereby weakening their properties. Moreover, be attributed notable reorientations molecules diffusions hydrates. This work provides new insights into mechanics natural crystalline hydrates, which is also helpful understanding sediment–host
