ABSTRACT
The unsymmetrical bispyridyl olefins containing amides (UBOs) have been synthesized to study solid state [2 + 2] photochemical reactions with or without template. crystal structures of UBOs were determined using a powder X-ray diffraction technique. pure organic materials found form head-to-head (HH)-dimers upon irradiation in accordance their structures. Further, Ag···Ag and Ag···π interactions shown template head-to-tail (HT) photodimerization one-dimensional-coordination polymers single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner. dimer by single 1H NMR techniques.
