ABSTRACT
The spatial variation and temporal trends of legacy emerging per- polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) from 2011 to 2021 in agricultural soils Eastern China, which is one the largest PFAS production consumption regions world, were evaluated. We found that PFOS concentration decreased by 28.2% during this period. Given are sinks for persistent organic pollutants (POPs), our results suggest implementation Stockholm Convention its indirect effects, combined with a voluntary phaseout, effective controlling pollution China. In addition, show 19 out 28 PFASs detected >40% samples, concentrations being 17.6-1950 pg/g median 373 pg/g. Further, major components, accounting 63.8% total PFASs. Based on source appointment via Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) model, contribution ratio consumer product industries has steadily increased 6.10 26.2%, while both novel fluoropolymer have declined 24.2 1.50 19.1 5.40%, further confirming effectiveness Convention.
