ABSTRACT
Reductive debromination has been widely studied for the degradation of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), although reaction mechanisms are not so clear. In present study, photocatalytic and ten PBDEs were carried out with CuO/TiO2 nanocomposites as photocatalyst under an anaerobic condition. The pseudo-first-order rate constants obtained PBDEs, their relative (kR) evaluated against kR= 1 BDE209. Unlike generally accepted summary that kR is dependent on total Br number (N) found to depend a phenyl ring more atoms than other one. words, substituted by reactive reductive debromination. calculated LUMO energies (ELUMO) all well correlated Br, compared N two rings. result was explained localization Br-rich ring, suggesting occurs ring.
