ABSTRACT
Producing emulsions continuously compared to in batch production has many benefits, such as increased speed and agility of production. A Sonolator, a device similar high-pressure homogenizer, is capable this continuous In paper, the size droplets produced during emulsification been investigated for various orifice pressure drops, dispersed phase viscosities, sizes. The fraction phase, up 10% v/v, presence blade after were found not affect droplet distribution (DSD). mode decreased with increasing drop DSDs mostly bimodal, due formation satellite droplets, meaning that d3,2 poor benchmarking parameter. We propose model predicting full DSD emulsion. This reveals key parameters scale-up using Sonolators can help improve product quality process efficiency.
