ABSTRACT
In patients suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), the immune system is disrupted and intestinal barrier function compromised. Here, six zinc-flavonoid particles were produced by one-step reaction via changing flavonoids (myricetin, quercetin, rutin) solvent (water ethanol), then their cytocompatibility ability to scavenge H2O2, free radicals, LPS-induced ROS compared. Zinc-rutin (W-ZnRT) composed of rutin (78.92 wt %), Na12[ZnPO4]12·12H2O (6.76 crystal water screened out because W-ZnRT exhibited 80.8 ± 15% cell viability against RAW264.7, could rapidly 78.1 1% H2O2 71.6 2% DPPH within 30 min, reduced LPS-increased intracellular normal levels. addition, therapeutic effects also compared in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced acute chronic colitis mice. was superior alone (n = 9), although they equally effective 7). Compared rutin, 11 oral doses (40 mg kg-1) significantly improved permeability (p 0.0299) colon length 0.0025), proinflammatory factors (IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α), upregulated tight junction proteins maintain function. Taken together, these results identified as an efficient safe strategy for IBD.
