ABSTRACT
The authenticity of fish products has become an imperative issue for authorities involved in the protection consumers against fraudulent practices and market stabilization. present study aimed to provide a method authentication European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) according requirements seafood labels (Regulation 1379/2013/EU). Data on biometric traits, fatty acid profile, elemental composition, isotopic abundance wild reared (intensively, semi-intensively, extensively) specimens from 18 southern sources (n = 160) were collected, clustered six sets parameters, then subjected multivariate analysis. Correct allocations subjects their production method, origin, stocking density demonstrated with good approximation rates (94, 92, 92%, respectively) using profiles. Less satisfying results obtained abundance, composition. analysis also revealed that extensively cannot be analytically discriminated subjects.
