ABSTRACT
Pecan ( Carya illinoinensis) is an important tree nut throughout the world. The high concentration of flavonoid in its kernels makes it excellent food with health benefits. However, molecular basis biosynthesis pecan remains unclear, which hinders quality breeding this plant. Therefore, order to find crucial genes involved biosynthesis, changes profiles and transcriptomes at four developmental stages (late water, gel, dough, mature stages) were analyzed. As a result, highest levels total phenolic, condensed tannin, flavan-3-ols observed "late water stage". Catechin was most abundant flavan-3-ol different development stages. In total, 64 773 unigenes obtained, 46 924 (72.44%) annotated. After differentially expressed gene (DEG) analysis, 12 750 unique DEGs identified. Flavonoid-related 36 structural eight MYBs obtained. set contained three PALs, CHSs, two CHIs, one F3H, F3'Hs, F3'5'Hs, DFR, ANS, LARs, ANRs. expression patterns consistent during kernel development. We believe that RNA-Seq data will provide valuable resources for unraveling mechanism metabolism significantly promote genetic studies
