ABSTRACT
Energy crisis and emission problems have led to investigations on alternative fuels. In this respect, partial substitution of diesel with alcohol biodiesel has proved be successful. The present study focuses the use as an additive stabilize alcohols in blends proposes new fuel formulations based thermodynamic studies liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data from ternary systems containing methanol/ethanol/1-butanol + at atmospheric pressure 300.15 K. authenticity phase was validated by Othmer–Tobias Hand equations. distribution selectivity coefficients calculated for immiscibility regions indicated that increase carbon chain strengthens solubility. Experimental also correlated universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC) non-random two liquids (NRTL) models. Both models showed high agreement experimental data, deviation values (root-mean-square deviation, RMSD) less than 1.78%.
