ABSTRACT
In this work, the solid–liquid equilibrium for levetiracetam in 10 neat solvents (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, 1,4-dioxane, toluene, and cyclohexane) binary liquid mixtures (ethanol + acetate) was measured by using a static gravimetric method at temperatures T = 283.15–323.15 K under pressure of 101.2 kPa. general, solubility highest methanol lowest cyclohexane. The modified Apelblat equation, λh Wilson model, NRTL model were used to correlate data monosolvents; Jouyban–Acree van't Hoff–Jouyban–Acree Apelblat–Jouyban–Acree experiment solvent mixtures. Compared with results above models, calculated provided good experimental data. Consequently, monosolvents, values root-mean-square deviation relative average not exceeding 9.91 × 10–4 2.50%, respectively; mixtures, 2.75 0.80%. Furthermore, thermodynamic properties monosolvents calculated. From analysis results, dissolution process an endothermic, spontaneous, entropy driven process. It is crucially important understand drug development. particular, purification, recrystallization, formulation development industry effected its values.
