ABSTRACT
Pentaminomycins F-H (1-3), a group of three new hydroxyarginine-containing cyclic pentapeptides, were isolated from cultures Streptomyces cacaoi subsp. strain along with the known pentaminomycins A-E. The structures peptides determined by combination mass spectrometry, NMR, and Marfey's analyses. F (1) G (2) shown to contain rare amino acid 3-(2-pyridyl)-alanine. This finding represents first reported examples nonribosomal containing this residue. ldlld chiral sequence found for compounds was in agreement that previously consistent epimerization domains present putative peptide synthetase (NRPS) biosynthetic gene cluster.
