ABSTRACT
Considered as a faster and energy-efficient alternative to conventional manufacturing techniques for thermosetting polymers composites, frontal polymerization (FP) is built on thermal equilibrium between the heat generated by exothermic reaction of resin system consumed advancing front. However, loss surrounding may disrupt this slow down possibly quench This paper investigates impact two types key characteristics (propagation speed maximum temperature) front: convective along boundary channel contact at channel-tool plate interfaces. The analysis performed numerically using nonlinear, adaptive fully coupled finite element solver.
