ABSTRACT
Stochastic resetting is prevalent in natural and man-made systems, giving rise to a long series of nonequilibrium phenomena. Diffusion with stochastic serves as paradigmatic model study these phenomena, but the lack well-controlled platform by which this process can be studied experimentally has been major impediment research field. Here, we report experimental realization colloidal particle diffusion via holographic optical tweezers. We provide first corroboration central theoretical results go on measure energetic cost steady-state first-passage scenarios. In both cases, show that cannot made arbitrarily small because fundamental constraints realistic protocols. The methods developed herein open door future phenomena beyond diffusion.
