Integrated Proteomics Analysis of Baseline Protein Expression in Pig Tissues

ABSTRACT
The availability of an increasingly large amount public proteomics data sets presents opportunity for performing combined analyses to generate comprehensive organism-wide protein expression maps across different organisms and biological conditions. Sus scrofa, a domestic pig, is model organism relevant food production human biomedical research. Here, we reanalyzed 14 from the PRIDE database coming pig tissues assess baseline (without any perturbation) abundance in organs, encompassing total 20 healthy 128 samples. analysis involved quantification 599 mass spectrometry runs. We compared patterns among organs examined distribution proteins these organs. Then, studied how abundances were tissue specificity detected proteins. Of particular interest, conducted comparative between tissues, revealing high degree correlation orthologs, particularly brain, kidney, heart, liver have integrated results into Expression Atlas resource easy access visualization individually or alongside gene data.
