ABSTRACT
Ammonium perchlorate (AP), which is the most commonly used oxidant in composite propellants, plays a vital role combustion performance of propellants. In this work, by coating AP surface with self-assembled layer gallic acid (GA) and transition metal ions (Cu2+ or Fe3+) then connecting it 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (PDTS) layer, AP@GA-M@PDTS (M = Cu2+ was successfully prepared. Molecular dynamics simulation calculations show that GA have good binding ability. At same time, ability PDTS also much higher than AP. addition, peak temperature high-temperature decomposition activation energy are lower those AP, heat release during thermal process Compared pure properties changed significantly. can float on water; its static contact angle water absorbs almost no moisture after being placed humid air for 30 days. Combustion experiments burning speed intensity Fe3+)/Al significantly AP/Al, has stronger emission spectrum. Finally, catalytic mechanism to improve aluminum powder discussed. summary, very promising solid propellant additive.
