ABSTRACT
A multiresponsive supramolecular gel was constructed based on a bis(pyridinium) dication guest and copolymer with pillararenes as the pendant groups, which synthesized by free radical copolymerization of methacrylate-functionalized methyl methacrylate. The mechanism formation explored intensive study. Upon addition competitive host or molecules, pillararene-based could be transferred into sol due to competition host–guest complexation. Surprisingly, ordered stacking indispensable obtain gel, endowed system response temperature change.
