ABSTRACT
Chemical synthesized silver nanowires have been proved to be the efficient architecture for Plasmonic waveguides, but high propagation loss prevents their widely applications. Here, we demonstrate that distance of plasmons along Ag NW can extended if was placed on a dielectric multilayer substrate containing photonic band gap, not commonly used glass substrate. The at 630 nm wavelength reach 16 um even is as thin 90 in diameter. Experimental and simulation results further show polarization this propagating plasmon mode nearly parallel surface multilayer, so it excited by transverse-electric polarized Bloch wave polymer nanowire with diameter only about 170 same multilayer. Numerical simulations were also carried out consistent experiment results. Our work provides platform extend plasmonic waveguide integration between waveguides nanometre scale.
