ABSTRACT
Harvesting solar energy for water desalination is one of the most promising ways to produce clean water. Because absorber detachment and base material degradation, steam generator still suffers from drastic loss even when using materials with high photothermal conversion efficiency. We herein propose a practical design that can maintain both working efficiency operating life. This device made Paulownia wood covalently bonded MXene on top. wood, as natural heat insulator, servers an excellent transport customized evaporator. absorber–Paulownia system achieved evaporation rate 1.465 kg m–2 h–1 at 1 sun irradiation, corresponding 96% method proved be universal, other two implemented materials, graphene oxide active carbon, were also demonstrated. The theoretical model based two-phase flow in porous media further suggests this accelerate distillate rate. In article, shows solar–thermal efficiency, rate, long-time durability, making it superior candidate desalination.
