Antibody Targeted Metal–Organic Frameworks for Bioimaging Applications

ABSTRACT
We report on the availability and chemical utility of primary amines within metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for cell targeting. Primary amine groups represent one most versatile moieties conjugation to biologically relevant molecules, including antibodies enzymes. Specifically, we used two different conjugations schemes, utilizing amino functionality organic linker: first, carbodiimide chemistry was link available carboxyl protein neutravidin; second, sulfhydryl cross-linking via Traut's reagent scheme. Importantly, this is first that documents methodology implemented with MOF systems. Finally, ability EpCAM antibody targeted MOFs bind a human epithelial line (A549), common target imaging studies, confirmed confocal microscopy.
