ABSTRACT
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with a high surface area and excellent stability are potential candidates for uranium (U) adsorption. Amidoxime (AO) is the most widely used functional group to extract U, which usually introduced into MOFs by two-step post-synthetic methods (PSMs). Herein, MOF UiO-66-NH-(AO) was obtained one-step PSM amidoximation from UiO-66-NH-(CN), synthesized new organic ligand of 2-cyano-terephthalic acid whose morphology octahedron could be well controlled ligand. The can greatly maintain MOFs. What more, showed good adsorption performance equilibrium within 1500 min, capacity U calculated 134.1 mg/g according Langmuir model. It also had selectivity in presence concentrations vanadium (V), ferrum (Fe), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), zirconium (Zr). natural seawater determined 5.2 8 days. recyclability simulated demonstrated at least four adsorption/desorption cycles. binding mechanism investigated extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy, revealing that occurs fashion η2 motif. This study provides reliable idea modification MOF-based materials seawater.
