ABSTRACT
Rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant bacterial strains has posed a global threat to public health. Hospital-acquired infections, especially in diabetic and burn patients, severely impede the process wound healing, thereby causing high mortality. This calls for developing new biomaterial that synergistically destroys pathogenic also helps promoting healing without any resistance generation. A highly potent antibacterial agent been developed by integrating bactericidal properties MoS2 nanosheets recently quaternized polysaccharide, pullulan (CP), into single nanoplatform accelerated therapy. are noncovalently functionalized with yield glycosheets (MCP) efficiently eradicate both Gram-negative Escherichia coli (5 μg/mL) Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (10 within short period 4 h, through synergistic action membrane damage chemical oxidation. coupled CP exert membrane-directed distinct mechanisms "pore-forming" "non-pore-forming" pathways, respectively, whereas oxidative stress is induced alone collectively kill pathogens. The MCP have good biocompatibility capable disrupting eradicating mature biofilms. efficient vivo disinfection occurred upon treatment reduction inflammation promotion cellular proliferation tissue remodeling. Thus, can emerge as safe potential better care management.
