ABSTRACT
Single-crystal and polycrystalline structures are the two main structural forms of Ni-rich layered cathode for lithium-ion batteries. The difference is closely related to electrochemical performance thermal stability, but its internal mechanism unclear worthy further exploration. In this study, both single-crystal LiNi0.83Co0.12Mn0.05O2 cathodes were prepared by adjusting calcination temperature mechanical post-treatment, respectively. Systematic comparisons made assess effects different grain on stability. study revealed superior stability monocrystalline cathodes, attributing it oxygen vacancies phase transitions. From perspective boundaries, was demonstrated that diffusion reduction Ni in exhibit anisotropy. This research elucidates origins batteries, providing valuable insights into battery material design.
