ABSTRACT
Catalyst-containing nanoreactors have attracted considerable attention for specific applications. Here, we initially report preparation of PtNi@SiO2 hollow microspheres based on confined catalysis. The previous encapsulation dispersed Pt nanoparticles (NPs) in silica ensures the formation Pt@Ni coreshell NPs inside porous shell. Thus, not only catalyze reduction Ni ions but also direct deposition cores to obtain core–shell catalyst. It is worthy point out that this synthetic approach helps form a patchlike or thick coating by controlling penetration time from bulk solution into SiO2 (0.5, 1, 2, 4 h). Notably, with patch-like layer (0.5 and 1 h) show higher H2 generation rate 1221–1475 mL min–1 g–1cat than (2 h, 920–1183 g–1cat), much pure (224 g–1cat). In addition, catalyst possesses good stability recyclability generation. nanocapsules, well-defined compositions morphologies, high rate, recyclability, should be an ideal applications liquid phase reaction.
