ABSTRACT
A conductive composite of graphene nanoribbon (GNR) stacks and epoxy is fabricated. The filled with the GNR stacks, which serve as a additive. are on average 30 nm thick, 250 wide, μm long. GNR-filled exhibits conductivity >100 S/m at 5 wt % content. This permits application GNR-epoxy for deicing surfaces through Joule (voltage-induced) heating generated by voltage across composite. power density 0.5 W/cm(2) was delivered to remove ∼1 cm-thick (14 g) monolith ice from static helicopter rotor blade surface in -20 °C environment.
