ABSTRACT
Porous separators are key components for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and they have drawn considerable attention because of their vital role in governing battery cost performance (e.g., power density, safety, longevity). Here, zirconia-coated were fabricated via a facile biomineralization process with the aim to improve commercialized polypropylene separators. The as-prepared organic-inorganic composite show excellent thermal stability, even at melting temperature (160 °C) polypropylene. This is due well-distributed zirconia coatings on separator surfaces. Furthermore, interfacial impedance only 343.8 Ω, which four times lower than pristine ones. results demonstrate an attractive method prepare outstanding properties, makes them promising candidates high-performance LIBs.
