ABSTRACT
The utility of gold nanorods for plasmonic applications largely depends on the relative orientation and proximity nanorods. Though side-by-side or chainlike nanorod morphologies have been previously demonstrated, a simple reliable method to obtain high-yield oriented assemblies remains significant challenge. We present facile, scalable approach which exploits meniscus drag, evaporative self-assembly, van der Waals interactions precisely position orient over macroscopic areas 1D nanostructured substrates. By adjusting ratio diameter width nanochannels, we demonstrate formation two highly desired translationally ordered patterns. further transfer aligned into polymer matrix exhibits anisotropic optical properties, allowing rapid fabrication deployment flexible electronic materials in future nanoscale devices.
