ABSTRACT
Gram-negative bacteria, containing toxic proinflammatory and pyrogenic substances [endotoxin or lipopolysaccharide (LPS)], can lead to infection associated serious diseases, such as sepsis septic shock. Development of antimicrobial materials with intrinsically endotoxin adsorption activity prevent the release bacterial components while killing bacteria. Herein, a series imidazolium-type polyurethane (PU) foams properties were synthesized. The content effects cationic moieties on activities against Escherichia coli Pseudomonas aeruginosa Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus well property investigated. obtained PU show slightly higher efficiency two strains than for one high absorbability LPS. A wound healing test using P. its isolated LPS-treated mice models further demonstrated that combine both antibacterial may have potential application an dressing in clinical setting.
