ABSTRACT
Silver (Ag)-based nanoparticles (NPs) with a high potential of Ag+ release have been known to be capable promoting bacteria inactivation and the wound healing process; however, keeping steady flux levels in Ag-based NPs is still challenging. Herein, novel strategy terms altering intrinsic electronic structure Ag was attempted facilitate oxidation boost flux, as results improved antibacterial performance NPs. Gold (Au), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd) were doped into tune their d band centers upshift toward Fermi level, formed Pd-Ag alloy showed largest shift, followed by Pt-Ag Au-Ag NPs, determined density function theory calculation ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy measurement. Further X-ray photoelectron analysis indicates that larger could induce less electron filling antibonding orbital higher leading more remarkable inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. All these efficiently inhibit bacterial growth accelerate process than pure activity progressively proportional values center. Taken together, tuning center level becomes feasible for designing therapeutic promising performance.
