ABSTRACT
Tailoring composition and structure are significantly important to improve the utilization optimize performance of precious Pt catalyst toward various reactions, which greatly relies on feasible synthesis approach. Herein, we demonstrate that Cu-rich Cu5Pt alloys with unique excavated dodecahedral frame-like (Cu5Pt nanoframes) can be synthesized via simply adjusting amounts salt precursors surfactants under hydrothermal conditions. It is established presence hexamethylenetetramine cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, as well selection a proper Pt/Cu ratio key for acquisition target product. The immediate appeal this material stems from architecture ultralow content involved, used efficiency atoms. When benchmarked against commercial catalysts, developed nanostructures display superior electrocatalytic formic acid oxidation, owing electronic effect ensemble effect. This work elucidates promising methodology Pt-based while highlights significance in electrocatalysis.
