ABSTRACT
Exiting strategies for 3D shape-changing structures are constrained by either the complicated fabrication process or harsh demands of active materials. Facile preparation with an extremely simple approach based on elastomeric polymer still remains a challenging topic. Here, we report fast digital patterning surface topography single-layer toward structures. The features digitally engraved grooves laser engraver poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) sheet, which is oxidized UV-ozone treatment. resulting PDMS sheets exhibit programmable behaviors to form various under action organic solvent. Experimental and numerical studies reveal fundamental aspects topography-guided Demonstrations this concept in developing complex illustrate simplicity effectiveness our approach, thereby creating engineering opportunities wide range applications such as actuators soft robots.
