ABSTRACT
Sunlight utilization by plants via the photosynthesis process is limited to visible spectral range. How expand range construction of a hybrid photosynthetic system hot topic in this field. In work, far-red carbon dots (FR-CDs) with excellent water solubility, good biocompatibility, high quantum yield (QY), and superior stability were prepared one-step microwave synthesis 3 min. The as-prepared FR-CDs an efficient converter transferring ultraviolet A (UV-A) light 625–800 nm emission, which can be directly absorbed utilized chloroplasts. Due broader solar energy Emerson effect, increased activity achieved both vivo vitro when applied for Roman lettuce. coating chloroplasts presents higher electron transfer efficiency between PS II (photosystem II) I I), consequently increases ATP production. experiment further confirms that FR-CDs-treated lettuce induce 28.00% rate compared control group, results 51.14 24.60% enhancement fresh dry weights, respectively. This work expected provide way improving conversion from chemical energy. (PS photosystem
