ABSTRACT
The fixed optical properties of noble metals currently limit their use in photonic devices that operate at frequencies. To achieve with tunable response, we present metal alloyed thin-films formed by the binary mixture Ag, Au, and Cu. As dielectric functions (ε) alloys cannot be modeled as linear combination pure metals, combined transmission reflection measurements thin films a B-spline model takes into account Kromers–Kronig relation experimentally determined functions. We found some cases can provide material higher surface plasmon polariton quality factor than corresponding metals. independently measured coupling angle for all using Kretschmann configuration excellent agreement between two methods when determining ε. Our approach paves way to implement metallic nanostructures on-demand responses, overcoming current limitation function
