ABSTRACT
The multipole expansion has found limited applicability for optical dielectric resonators in inhomogeneous environment, such as on the surface of substrates. Here, we generalize method images to analysis light scattering by nanoparticles conductive We present examples illustrating physical insight provided our method, including selection rules governing excitation multipoles. propose and experimentally demonstrate a new mechanism generate high resolution color. employed are very thin (less than 50 nm), i.e., similar thickness plasmonic that currently being investigated structural generalized opens up prospects design metasurfaces resonators.
