ABSTRACT
The self-assembly of the ligands bis(pyrazol-1-yl)(pyridine-4-yl)methane (L1) and bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)(pyridine-4-yl)methane (L2) with AgBF4 leads to three types species: L1 gives rise formation a boxlike cyclic dimer (1) while L2 two different coordination polymers that are sequence isomers. With dependence on crystallization conditions, either homochiral helix (2) spontaneous resolution or zigzag polymer is formed (3). By means solid-state circular dichroism studies, presence both enantiomers in 2 observed, enriched locally colonies crystals. motif stable, even upon removal guest solvent molecules. noncovalent interactions crystalline structure clearly affected by methyl groups pyrazolyl rings. behavior compounds solution discussed.
