ABSTRACT
We acknowledge to the Direccion General de Investigacion Cientifica y Tecnica of Spain (Project Nos. MAT2011-29020-C02-02 and Consolider-Ingenio 2009-CSD-0050-MULTI-CAT) for financial support. The material was functionalized with acid and base active sites and used as a bifunctional catalyst in a model cascade reaction. This catalyst was recycled up to eight times with only a small loss of activity.<br/>
