ABSTRACT
Thermal Deoxygenation (TDO) is a reaction converting calcium-neutralized, biomass-derived acids to crude hydrocarbons at 450 °C in an inert atmosphere ambient pressure. In this work, TDO applied hydrolyzate produced by the Biofine process determine effects of impurities on oil yield and composition. The oils were characterized for fuel material properties according ASTM methods. found have low total acid number (<1.4) consistent boiling point distribution high temperature simulated distillation (ASTM 7169) between 75° 585 °C. Combustion emission characteristics as 50/50 vol. % blend with ultralow sulfur diesel fuels cetane number. This attributed hydrogen content (9.4 wt %) aromaticity.
