ABSTRACT
The present work demonstrates the application of nanocrystalline Li+ impregnated CaO as a heterogeneous catalyst for transesterification used cottonseed oil with higher amount moisture. Catalysts different alkali metal ions were prepared by wet impregnation method, and their basic strengths measured Hammett indicators maximum was found in case lithium carbonate CaO. Further characterization powder X-ray diffraction transmission electron microscopy studies supports formation nanosized particle size about 50 nm. same has been chosen studying reaction cotton seed methanol. variables ion, percentage impregnation, concentration, temperature (35−65 °C), to methanol molar ratio, time (0.5−8 h), free fatty acid content (up 6 wt %), moisture 15 mixture content. Reaction parameters have optimized achieve least period completion reaction. Complete required 45 min presence nanocatalyst at 65 °C when contents 0.26 0.31 %, respectively. be effective even % water though it took 2.5 h
