ABSTRACT
In the manufacture of a paper product, application wet-end additives and adjustments various conditions can have major effects on physical optical properties final paper. this study, we prepared handsheets investigated many process variables, including type amounts cationic polyacrylamide colloidal silica, in addition to temperature, duration mixing, hydrodynamic shear, pH, variations electrical conductivity due salt addition. The most important were attributable amount, ionic charge, molecular weight polyacrylamide, as well amount silica. Many observed could be explained terms fiber flocculation, adverse effect flocculation uniformity paper, factor that significantly affected properties. An understanding relationships between chemical other system variables helpful selecting optimal operating meet requirements resulting A statistical analysis was carried out, using normalized coordinates, show which independent had significant response variables.
