ABSTRACT
Active engineering and modulation of optical spectra in a remote fully reversible light is urgently desired photonics, chemistry, materials. However, the real-time regulation multiple information such as wavelength, bandwidth, reflectance, polarization still longstanding issue due to lack an appropriate photoresponsive candidate. Herein, we propose additional "degree-of-freedom (DOF)" photo-modulated soft helix, build up unprecedented inhomogeneous helical pitch length with light-reconfiguring property, fatigue resistance, reversibility. For working model, intrinsic chiral photoswitch LBC5 employed actuator modulate length, which proportional irradiation intensity, unique broadband absorbance photo-modulator BTA-C5 incorporated attenuator transmitted decrease its intensity along sample thickness, therefore successfully adding another controlled DOF on distribution (i.e., homogeneous or inhomogeneous) apart from common helix only single length. The variable absorption enables reconfigure inhomogeneous, thereby achieving robust fatigue-resistance establishment spectral programming. established light-reconfigurable modulator can provide breakthrough control chirality, especially for dynamically broadening narrowing bandwidth demand, further enable ever-desired NIR circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) high dissymmetry factor glum 1.88. cutting-edge photoswitchable provides access multi-freedom materials, optics, biophotonics, other relevant fields.
