ABSTRACT
It was found that gold nanoparticles of small size (<5 nm) could inhibit the chemiluminescence (CL) luminol−ferricyanide system, whereas large (>10 enhance this CL, and most intensive CL signals were obtained with 25-nm-diameter nanoparticles. The luminophor identified as excited-state 3-aminophthalate anion. studies UV−visible spectra, X-ray photoelectron effects concentrations luminol ferricyanide solution, fluorescence quenching efficiency colloids carried out to explore inhibition enhancement mechanism. by supposed originate from competitive consumption relatively high In contrast, ascribed catalysis in electron-transfer process during reaction low This work demonstrates have size-dependent reaction, proposing a perspective for investigation new efficient nanosized inhibitors enhancers reactions analytical purposes.
