ABSTRACT
Three different types of photoluminescent hybrid materials containing trivalent lanthanide (Ln3+ = Eu3+, Tb3+) ions, chitosan, and silica have been prepared with structural features. The sources lead to diverse microstructures materials, being homogeneously dispersed in the chitosan (LnChS−H), or forming a core−shell morphology. Postsynthesis treatment is necessary for embedding luminescent probe. Ln3+-based investigated by photoluminescence spectroscopy (12−300 K). chitosan−Eu3+-related local environment maintained EuChS−H material. emission features are characterized presence two Eu3+ distinct environments, one associated core other shell.
