ABSTRACT
A one-pot colloidal reaction strategy was developed to synthesize asymmetric magnetic composite particles (AMCPs) with high anisotropy and content. The asymmetricity established by having two portions of the particle composed both polystyrene silica, among which latter conjugated magnetite nanoparticles. Phase separation found be critical in developing structure between inorganic polymer components during miniemulsion polymerization sol–gel reaction. Morphological control achieved a straightforward fashion adjusting processing parameters. These nanomaterials superparamagnetic amphiphilic properties will have significant potential biomedical applications.
