ABSTRACT
We have fabricated electrically conductive, optically transparent, and mechanically strong shape-memory polyurethane film by incorporating photochemically surface-modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). The oxygen functional groups on the sidewall of MWNTs, created vacuum ultraviolet light, provide reactive sites to bind strongly with polyurethane. homogeneous dispersion MWNTs is confirmed optical signals coming from innermost tube (ca. 0.9 nm) not isolated single walled nanotubes. optimally introduced as well judicious selection organic solvent, both for dispersing homogeneously dissolving polymer completely, are critical fabricate high film.
