ABSTRACT
In this letter a method is described to synthesize new polysiloxane architectures by photoacid catalysis. An oxasilaspirocycle designed that able undergo generator catalyzed ring-opening reaction leading either homopolymer or copolymers with hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane. These polymers feature defined amount of double bonds in the backbone, which controlled ratio comonomer. The former was prepared trispentafluorophenylborane-catalyzed intramolecular hydrosilylation dialkenyloxysilane an appropriate structural motif. UV-initiated polymerization characterized via situ IR spectroscopic studies determine rate reaction.
