ABSTRACT
Animal hairs are typical structured conical fibers ubiquitous in natural system that enable the manipulation of low viscosity liquid a well-controlled manner, which serves as fundamental structure Chinese brush for ink delivery controllable manner. Here, drawing inspiration from these structure, we developed dynamic electrochemical method enables fabricating anisotropic multiscale copper wire (SCCW) with conicity and surface morphology. The as-prepared SCCW exhibits unique ability manipulating significantly high efficiency, over 428 times greater than its own volume could be therefore operated. We propose boundary condition balance behavior on fibers, namely, steady holding droplet at tip region SCCW, makes it an excellent fibrous medium to manipulate liquid. Moreover, demonstrate titling angle can also affect efficiency by virtue mechanical rigidity, is hardly realized flexible hairs. envision bio-inspired give designing materials devices more way efficiency.
