A new technique for retrieval of sea surface salinity (SSS) from space‐borne satellite measurements Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) through the ‘Effective Oceanic Layer (EOL)’ is explained in this paper. The OLR used to study convection over land and ocean.
