ABSTRACT
A new technique for retrieval of sea surface salinity (SSS) from space‐borne satellite measurements Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) through the ‘Effective Oceanic Layer (EOL)’ is explained in this paper. The OLR used to study convection over land and ocean. This based on idea that intense ocean associated with warmer temperatures maintained by low salinities formed due large riverine input compounded convection‐induced precipitation. augments situ SSS measurements. preliminary assessment deriving presented Bay Bengal. It envisaged estimated way may be useful improving existing climatologies at least those parts world's where regular feature, such as tropical Indian Pacific Oceans.
