Construction of the Asian American Family Conflicts Scale.

ABSTRACT
This study describes the construction and initial validation of Asian American Family Conflicts Scale (FCS) with 3 samples college students. The scale consists 10 typical family conflicts that are rated for likelihood occurrence (FCS-Likelihood) seriousness conflict (FCS-Seriousness). In Study 1, FCS-Likelihood FCS-Seriousness had sound internal reliability, stability, construct validity. 2, correlated socioeconomic cultural orientation variables. Ethnic, generation, language differences, as well parent-child acculturation gap hypothesis, also were confirmed FCS-Likelihood. 3, measures cohesion, adaptability, communication. Although further is necessary, in particular a potentially useful research clinical instrument assessing quality relationships.
