ABSTRACT
The present study (N 86) sought to evaluate a laboratory-based behavioral measure of risk taking (the Balloon Analogue Risk Task; BART) and test associations between this self-report measures risk-related constructs as well self-reported real-world behaviors. BART evidenced sound experimental properties, riskiness on the was correlated with scores sensation seeking, impulsivity, deficiencies in constraint. Also, occurrence addictive, health, safety behaviors, task accounting for variance these behaviors beyond that accounted by demographics constructs. These results indicate may be useful tool assessment taking.
