ABSTRACT
The present study examines the association between various facets of generativity, that is, cultural demand for generative concern, and action, with satisfaction needs relatedness, competence, autonomy in samples elderly from Cameroon, China (Hong Kong), Czech Republic, Germany. Participants provided information on self-transcendence values (internalized demand), concern need satisfaction. Results suggest, first, internalized affects action indirectly through second, has a positive direct effect satisfaction, but that, third, there is also an indirect which, fourth, relatedness competence negative autonomy. These findings were culture-invariant our study, suggesting generalizability to other cultures. They are discussed respect role generativity possible trade-off at least elderly.
