ABSTRACT
Abstract Completely bio-based poly(limonene carbonate) is a thermoplastic polymer, which can be synthesized by copolymerization of limonene oxide (derived from limonene, found in orange peel) and CO 2 . Poly(limonene has one double bond per repeating unit that exploited for further chemical modifications. These modifications allow the tuning properties aliphatic polycarbonate nearly any direction. Here we show synthetic routes to demonstrate perfect green platform many functional materials derived. The relevant examples presented this study are transformation an engineering into rubber, addition permanent antibacterial activity, hydrophilization even pH-dependent water solubility polycarbonate. Finally, route yield completely saturated counterpart exhibits improved heat processability due lower reactivity.
